Circle of Life – 3.30 PM

Chippi the Chipkali – 7.30 PM

Sunday, February 7th, 2021

With plays for adults running to houseful shows, Ranga Shankara gets set to welcome back young audiences! Two of Ranga Shankara's popular children's plays, ‘Circle of Life’ and 'Chippi the Chipkali' will be staged on Sun, 7 Feb 2021. 'Circle of Life' will be performed at 3 30 PM and 'Chippi the Chipkali' at 7 30 PM. Both plays were produced under Ranga Shankara's AHA! Theatre for Children wing and have premiered at many renowned children's theatre festivals around the world, such as the Izmir International Puppet Days in Turkey and the China Children's Theatre Festival. Tickets are available at the Ranga Shankara Box Office and bookmyshow.com.

'Circle of Life' is devised by Team COL and directed by Ranga Shankara’s former artistic director S Surendranath. The non-verbal puppet play is an exploration of human life. It delves into the various stages, both physical and emotional, that humans go through from childhood to old age. Each stage of life has its own unique gift to give to humanity in this circle of life; the play highlights this preciousness. The play is for children aged 5 and above.

'Chippi, the Chipkali' is directed by German theatre artiste and puppeteer Gertrude Troebinger. The play is an endearing tale of a baby lizard's search for her lost tail. 'Chippi, the Chipkali' is based on an Indian folk story. The non-verbal puppet play is for children between 4 to 6 years of age.

"Theatre for Children was always a part of the Ranga Shankara dream since its inception. It is necessary for young minds to experience the wonder of live theatre, especially now, with everything having gone online. With all safety and health precautions in place, we are glad to be welcoming children and their parents back to Ranga Shankara!", said Arundhati Nag.
