About Ranga Shankara and AHA! Theatre for Children Programme

Since opening its doors in 2004, Ranga Shankara has staged over 7,500 shows and continues to lead the charge with 400 performances every year. This is where theatre lives, breathes, and pushes boundaries. One of its most groundbreaking initiatives is the AHA! Theatre for Children Programme. For the last 15 years, it’s one of the only sustained theatre movements in the country that caters to young audiences. Over 15 productions have been rolled out under AHA!, with 6 currently running. Ranga Shankara isn’t just about putting on a show—it’s about shaping the future of theatre for the next generation.

About Summer Express Workshops

Summer Express is a signature programme of our AHA! Theatre For Children initiative, offering a transformative 13-day workshop series for children. Taking place in Bangalore during April and May, these day-long workshops are led by senior theatre facilitators, introducing kids to various aspects of the stage. The program nurtures creativity, builds confidence, and fosters meaningful learning experiences, ensuring children stay actively engaged during the summer by providing an enriching alternative to screen time and passive activities.

This year’s Summer Express will feature 8 workshops dealing with a variety of different facets of theatre, and 2 cooking workshops. Details given below.

Summer Express 2025 will run in two batches:

Batch 1: April 14th to April 27th, 2025

Batch 2: April 28th to May 11th, 2025

Registrations began on 11th of March, only in-person registrations at Ranga Shankara. Please mail programming@rangashankara.in for details and workshop availability.

Each batch is a complete course in itself. Workshops will be conducted every day except Sundays. On the final day of the workshop, participants will present a showcase on the Ranga Shankara stage.
