Ranga Shankara proudly presents Chandigarh-based The Company's play, “Black Box”, digitally. This will be the second play under Ranga Shankara's 'Staged@RS' digital streaming programme. Directed by renowned thespian Neelam Mansingh Chowdhry, 'Black Box' features actor Vansh Bhardwaj in a solo black-and-white piece.
Ranga Shankara has partnered with ticketing platform BookMyShow that has been making waves on the digital, offering viewers a range of events across genres.
The premiere of “Black Box” will be at 7:30 PM on Fri, 4 Dec 2020. The play stays up for viewing till 10 Dec 2020.
The tickets, priced at INR 200, will be available on BookMyShow’s website from 30 Nov 2020. The show will be made available to international audiences as well. Details will be available on in.bookmyshow.com.
‘Black Box’ was born as a response to the nationwide lockdown imposed by the pandemic that spared no one. The play further explores the idea of home and the emotions the word generates, drawing from the images of people going home, trudging along highways and on rail tracks with a trunk on their back, homeless migrants, transportation shut down, and everything immobilized.
"The play is a collaboration between actor Vansh Bhardwaj and myself. We tried to explore various texts, but the sense of incarceration of being locked down did not leave us. The fear of the virus, the loneliness of being ‘home alone’, the desperation to reach out, to speak, to connect, were the elements that clung to every exercise that we did", says Neelam Mansingh, the director of 'Black Box'.
