About the Artist
Ranjit Barot was born into a family steeped in Indian music and dance- his mother was the Kathak dancer, Sitara Devi.
His response to the drum kit, catapulted him onto becoming one of India's leading artists on the instrument at the age of 17.
On the world stage, he has performed often with Zakir Hussain, John McLaughlin, Jonas Hellborg and Tim Garland.
His work in films has also earned him much acclaim, including being Musical Director for all AR Rahman Live shows.
Ashwin Srinivasan is an Indian Classical flautist, composer, singer and poet- a man of many more talents.
Nastya Saraswati is a multi-instrumentalist-while violin is her main instrument, she also plays Indian/Western flute, Piano, Cello, Harp, Saxophone & Guitar. Born in St Petersburg, she studied Western Classical Music and later made trips to India to learn classical music .
Arka Chakraborty is a self-taught pianist from Calcutta, currently based in Mumbai. Apart from his own quartet ACT, he has performed with over 20 bands.
Avishek Dey is a bassist from Calcutta, specialising in multiple genres of rock/jazz.
