7 4th Main Rd, Stage 2, Domlur 560071
A sound not often heard in the South, the Sarod brings with it a rare kind of intensity.
In this special evening of Hindustani classical music, the fretless, resonant voice of the Sarod takes center stage, creating a striking presence in a region where the instrument is seldom performed live. Deep, introspective, and endlessly expressive, its sound carries both meditative calm and emotional fire.
Sachin Hampe brings the contemplative depth of the Maihar Gharana, a lineage known for its thoughtful, expansive approach to melody, to the stage. A disciple of Pt. Rajeev Taranath and part of the musical heritage shaped by Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, his sound blends precision with feeling, and tradition with improvisation.
Accompanied by Meghshyam Keshav on the Tabla, the performance unfolds as a dialogue between strings and rhythm, silence and sound.
An evening of Hindustani classical music that invites you to stay in the present moment.

Sachin H S was born in 1992 into a musically inclined family in Sagara, Shimoga district of Karnataka. He began learning the Tabla at the age of eight under the guidance of Pandit Ramesh Dhannur. For over twelve years, he has trained in the Sarod under Pandit Rajeev Taranath, one of the world’s foremost exponents of the instrument and a distinguished disciple of the legendary Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.
