About the Speaker
Sunil Amrith is the Renu and Anand Dhawan Professor of History at Yale University, with a secondary appointment as Professor at the Yale School of the Environment. He is the author of five books, most recently The Burning Earth: An Environmental History of the Last 500 Years. Amrith is the recipient of multiple awards, including the 2016 Infosys Prize for Humanities, a 2017 MacArthur Fellowship, and the 2024 Fukuoka Academic Prize.
