performance reimagines the classical concert experience by celebrating the depth and dynamism of
Carnatic music. It reflects Sangamam’s vision of making classical and rooted art forms accessible,
engaging, and relevant to today’s audiences through fresh, contemporary performance settings.
Leela, The SoundZ of LAYA is a vibrant instrumental ensemble led by acclaimed musician Sai Giridhar
that brings together accomplished artists to explore rhythm as a powerful medium of expression.
The production moves beyond traditional boundaries, creating a seamless musical journey that
appeals to seasoned classical connoisseurs and new listeners alike.
The performance focuses on crafting compositions that are technically intricate yet instantly
engaging. Through an array of original pieces, the ensemble weaves distinct grooves, intricate gatis
(rhythmic subdivisions), and evocative melodies that draw listeners in while gradually revealing
deeper emotional and structural layers.
