Event Description

Nikita Agarwal, a self-taught artist from Kolkata, will showcase her exploration of Varanasi's spiritual atmosphere in her solo exhibit, 'Ripples of Reflection', at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Gallery No. 3, in Bengaluru from June 6th to 10th, 2024. The exhibit will be open to the public from 11 am to 7 pm daily, with an exclusive preview event featuring a wine reception on June 5, 2024.

Agarwal's abstract works, inspired by Varanasi's ghats, aim to capture the city's spiritual essence. Her pieces feature a fusion of blues and purples, reflecting the interplay of tradition and modernity. The artwork portrays sadhus and marigold offerings along the banks of the Ganges, illustrating Varanasi's cultural landscape.

Citing Claude Monet's philosophy, Agarwal states, "The richness I achieve comes from nature, the source of my inspiration." She emphasizes her long-standing dedication to art, rooted in her passion since childhood. Her use of colors reflects Varanasi's dynamic spirit, from the blues of the Ganges to the oranges and reds of ritualistic practices.

Agarwal's canvases depict light and shadow through architectural motifs, capturing Varanasi's textures and patterns. In the "Divine Series," she uses mixed media to convey the city's spiritual energy. Notable is a piece featuring sadhus and a Nandi, symbolizing patience and divine anticipation.

Nikita Agarwal holds a degree in Business Management from MATS University and a Diploma in Fashion Designing from NIFT. Her recent exhibitions include YFLO at Taj Kolkata, Gagendra Shilpa Pradarshan Shala, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, and Kolkata Art Fair.
