The play is conceptualised along with actors from Bevinahalli-Sira who play the arai and Shahaney. They use the many stories they have grown up with and have experienced themselves in the play. The instruments carry with them many stories of divinity and identities that are not allowed to cross the threshold. Where does the divinity end and where does caste begin? Direction by Shradha Raj with support from Jangama Collective and PCPA ಶಿರಾ ಸೀಮೆಯ ‘ಬೇವಿನಹಳ್ಳಿ’ಯ ಅಪ್ರತಿಮ ಅರೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾದಸ್ವರದ ಕಲಾವಿದರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬದುಕಿನ ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಸೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಕಟ್ಟಿರುವ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ. ಹೊಸ ತಲೆಮಾರಿನ ಅನನ್ಯ ನಟಿ, ಬರಹಗಾರ್ತಿ, ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ‘ಶ್ರದ್ದಾ ರಾಜ್’ ಅವರು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಬೇವಿನಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದು ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಳ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಕಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ಒಡನಾಟವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಚಳುವಿಯೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಜಂಗಮ ತಂಡ ಹಿಂದೆ ‘ಕೇರಿ -ಹಾಡು’ ಪ್ರಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿತ್ತು. ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಕರ್ ಅವರು ದಿಂಡಗೂರಿನ ‘ಸಾವಿತ್ರಿ ಬಾಫುಲೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸ್ವಸಹಾಯ ತಂಡ’ಕ್ಕೆಅದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಅರೆಯ ನಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಬದುಕಿನ ‘ ರುಮುರುಮುರುಮು’ ಜಂಗಮ ಭಾವಿಸುವ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಚಳುವಳಿಯ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆ. ಬೇವಿನಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ‘ ಜಿಗುರು ‘ ತಂಡ. In collaboration with: Artistes Ranganath V Uddaraamanahalli Ranganath is a professional Shahaneya, trumpet, clarinet, naadaswars, drums, side drums and several other folk percussion instruments player. He comes from a long tradition of Shahanaye and wind instrument players. He began his journey with the instrument at the ripe age of 10 and has not stopped since. He has performed in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Nagaraju K B Hemdore-Sira Nagaraju is an Arai artist who has performed in Mysore, Sira and Bengaluru. Nagaraju comes from a family that has played Arai for generations in Hemdore. On addition to this he has finished his education in ITI and juggles between two of his professions. Krishnamurthy G Naduru Naduru Sira Krishnamurthy is a professional arai artist who began playing the Arai when he was 10. He has performed in several melas, festivals and utsavas across Karnataka and Andhra. Krishnamurthy has a rich ancestry when it comes to the Arai, he is one amongst many in family that has followed the tradition of playing the Arai in Naduru. Kavana M Sira Bevinahalli She is the trustee of Jiguru Academy of performing Arts. Has finished her education in diploma of health inspector. An aspiring Arai artist who is trying rekindle the flame of her ancestral trade of playing the Arai.
