Sage for the Ages is a poetic ensemble drawing from the deep wells of improvisation, memory, and myth. At its core, the band is an exploration — of sound, of silence, of what it means to witness and resist in a rapidly changing world.

Blending elements of contemporary jazz, neo-soul, and ambient textures, Sage for the Ages crafts original songs that speak to the soul and the system. Through thoughtful lyrics and immersive compositions, the band addresses themes of climate grief, ecological memory, urban decay, protest, and the quiet acts of resistance that bloom in unexpected places. Their music is both a meditation and a call — one that invites listeners to slow down, feel deeply, and listen closely.

Formed by a collective of seasoned improvisers and composers, Sage for the Ages moves fluidly between structure and spontaneity, with performances that feel intimate, cinematic, and charged with purpose. Whether in a quiet forest or on a lit festival stage, the band creates space — for reflection, urgency, and a shared breath. Sage for The Ages features members from an emerging Bangalore-Auroville collective: Kirtana Krishna (vocals, guitar), Dhani Muniz (bass), Raul Mattia (drums) and Aman Mahajan (keys). 

The debut album Second Nature is an intimate collection of personal stories by vocalist and songwriter Kirtana Krishna. Set against a backdrop of jazz harmonies, dreamy textures, and soulful grooves, the album explores memory, belonging, and transformation — tracing inner worlds shaped by love, loss, and quiet strength.

With R-Evolution, Sage for the Ages turns its gaze outward. This forthcoming album is a bold, groove-forward reflection on climate, power, protest, and collective reimagining — a sonic act of resistance that invites both urgency and joy.
