Event Description

A musical experience of the culture of the Himalayan region of Kalimpong and Darjeeling, fusing folk instruments and rhythms with rap music, performed in English as well as Nepali with the purpose of sharing the story and the history of our region.
 
About the Artist
 
Hailing from Kalimpong, West bengal, Saila experiments with multiple genres namely Hip Hop, rock, reggae,indie, funk and rnb, using rap as his choice of expression, in English and his mother tongue 'Nepali'.  
 
Resistance being the core movement of his music, Saila is set to release his debut album "1247" in 2025 which is based on the political and social agitation history of the region. Teaming with the finest musicians from Kalimpong, Saila and the Twelve47 Collective is a sonic representation of the culture of the region and seeks to bring genre blending performance fusing musical elements of their culture with modern forms of music.
