Men are Innocent. Or so they say while playing victim card, thereby alleging the women guilty as charged! Sakal Jaani he Naath is a comedy folk musical adapted from Vasant Deo’s Sudama ke Chawal. It revisits the famed mythological fable about Lord Krishna and his childhood friend Sudama. A Tragic-Comedy that explores the narrative of the contemporary human situation and is a satire on today’s man, his double standards and polluted mind. While the story and characters are the same, the ethos of these characters is what is seen today and in common life. The age-old tale and its characters have been used only as a reference. The play runs parallel with Narottam Das’s Sudamacharit and their verses are sung in folk tunes of Doha and Behre Tavil.

Bhumika Mane Actor

Bhumika Mane, from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, is a software engineer in Bangalore. From childhood, she has been interested in various arenas of sports, theatre, dance, and music. Bhumika represented Chhattisgarh at the national level in yoga and has also trained in malkhamb and Kathak dance forms. She has performed various folk dances, including lavni and giddha, apart from appearing in various light and sound shows as an actor. Proficient in Hindi, Marathi, and English, she wishes to leave her mark on the stage as an actor and is in the initial phases of her journey. ‘The Blooming Orchard’ is her first major break on the professional stage. She is known for her work in the production ‘Red Oleanders’.

Srinivas Beesetty Director

Srinivas is a Theatre Practitioner and has been performing as an Actor, Writer, and Director for over 15 years. A trainee from the National School of Drama, he holds a Diploma in Playback and Proscenium Theatre. He has performed and received accolades nationally at theatre festivals and competitions conducted by IPTA as well as private entities. His directorial piece ‘Panchhi’ has garnered him 12 national awards. He is the Founder of Kahe Vidushak.
