Event Description

Sakhi Ri is a Kathak-based dance drama production that delves into the profound subject of menstruation. This performance weaves the tale of a unique friendship between a woman and her Laal Sakhi, aka her menstrual cycles as she embarks on her journey of womanhood. Together, they navigate the intricacies of life, with each phase of Laal Sakhi adding its own vibrant hue to her human companion – from embarrassment and pain to sensuality, attraction, separation and the profound essence of motherhood. Performers

Anushka Chandak Kathak Dancer & Choreographer

Anushka Chandak is a Kathak dancer and Choreographer, holding the title of Nritya Alankaar. Under the guidance of Guru Maneesha Sathe, she graduated from Lalit Kala Kendra in performing arts, topping her class. She identifies versatility as her suit. She’s fond of research alongside performance which also made her the youngest research paper presenter at the Sharangdev Samaroha at 18 years of age. She has been a guest faculty at Lalit Kala Kendra, MSFDA (Maharashtra State Faculty Development academy) and the Spanish school La Casa de la India. She is a solo performer whose piece was telecasted on Tata Sky’s Insync channel in 2021. She has been a part of many successful dance drama productions and has performed across the country. She’s currently the Kathak faculty and presenter at SIFF Young Artiste, Bangalore.

Radhika Karandikar Kathak Dancer, Choreographer & Founder, Radha Productions

Radhika Karandikar is a Kathak dancer, choreographer, content creator and founder of Radha Productions. She has completed her Alankar in Kathak and runs her own school of kathak based in Pune. She has been a recipient of several national and international awards. She has also performed for several corporate events including companies like Tata, Bajaj, Reliance India etc.
