Sri Raja Rajeshwari Kala Niketan and Bangalore Environment Trust, in association with ICRA, celebrate Samanvaya Arts Festival with a launch of 'Aranye Ninage Sharanu', a book Authored by Dr.Yelappa Reddy, along with a dance-drama with the same title.
We are in a time when development and modernization are taking their toll on the earth, disrupting the natural resources, forests, soil and rivers. In this dance drama, we have earnestly attempted to portray how our ancient scriptures have extolled the virtues of a life lived with an unceasing focus on forest protection. This dance drama with three main characters Bhoomi Koravanji and Shabari along with Rama - elucidates the damage done to Mother Earth. In this divine ballet - Bhoomi-ava is seen totally weak and withering away. Koravanji the spirit behind the divine Earth and Shabari – a barefoot expert in forest ecology and an ardent devotee of Sri Rama- at once captures Bhumavva’s plight and brings to limelight the theme of Forest and its protection - ‘ARANYE NINAGE SHARANU’.
