Event Description

Sanchez Restaurante and Cantina has introduced a Season’s Special Menu that promises to shake off the winter chills with a host of Mexican delights.

Curated by Chef Vikas Seth the menu features brand new iterations of classic dishes. The Popped Amaranth and Pomegranate Guacamole is our all-time favourite with a twist - smashed avocado with chia seeds, green pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, pomegranate kernels and topped with popped Amaranth. The dish is served with yellow corn chips, roasted tomato salsa and sour cream.

The menu includes an Aztec style of Morita Chicken Tamale, cocooned in a corn husk, accompanied with smokey chipotle sauce, on a bed of Mexican rice and refried beans. Which Mexican meal is complete without tacos? The menu includes two types of tacos, the Quesabirria and Pork Pibil Tacos. Quesabirria, also called Red Tacos, is a cross between a taco and a quesadilla, Birria-style cooked goat meat folded into a tortilla with melted cheese and served with Arbol salsa. Whereas, the Pork Pibil Tacos are traditionally made wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in an oven, made in a hole in the ground, lined with stones. The tender and flavoursome Citrus braised pork served at Sanchez is made using the pot roast method to achieve the same delicious texture and served in soft corn tacos topped with habanero pickle onion and a slice of avocado.
