Both Music and Poetry are beautiful and touching on their own, but when they meet, they cast magic, they cast bliss. Together they can put our mind and heart at ease, together they can induce peace. And people who know the art of bringing Music and Poetry together are called Singer-Songwriters.

In order to celebrate the art of Songwriting, and to give a stage to the budding Songwriters, Kommune has brought to you -

Sangeetkaar: An Evening of Music.

Some of the most talented Indie Singer-Songwriters, shortlisted from over 100 entries we received from across India, Will be performing their latest unreleased song for you on the evening of 4th of March at this digital event.

The songs will be performed in the presence of well known and everybody's favourite Singer-Songwriters - Ankur Tewari, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Samar Mehdi, and Salman Elahi.

Who is this slam for?

This slam is for everyone who wishes to spend their Friday evening listening to some of the most unique and heartfelt indie songs, sung by talented Singer-Songwriters coming from various cities of India.

This is a chance for all the budding Songwriters to watch and listen to the best performers, shortlisted from over 100 entries. And also listen to the comments/feedback made on them by the well known Singer/Songwriters/Composers, who will be present at the event. Lastly, if you are a music enthusiast, this event is for you.

About the Guests -

Ankur Tewari - Ankur Tewari is an Indian Music director, singer, composer, and songwriter. He is popularly known for films like Gully Boy , Slumdog Millionaire , Raat Gayi Baat Gayi and his newest release, streaming on Amazon Prime Gehraiyaan. Other than the films Ankur has released so many hit and soulful music albums of his. He is a man with multiple talents and so many achievements on the national and international level.

Sanjeeta Bhattacharya - Sanjeeta is an Indian singer and songwriter. She is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and has been a part of festivals such as Panama Jazz Festival, Hornbill Festival, NH7 Weekender and Magnetic Fields Festival. As part of her personal project, she has released a series of singles and her track, “Everything’s Fine?” put her on Spotify's global emerging artist program, RADAR in July 2020. Sanjeeta also debuted as an actor in the Netflix series “Feels Like Ishq” on July 23rd, 2021.

Samar Mehdi - Samar Mehdi is a percussive finger-style guitarist and singer-songwriter from Bhopal. He emerged as one of the best guitarists from his region, and that led to his invitation to be part of the bands like - Acrimony and The Ferryclock Yarns.

Salman Elahi - Salman Elahi is a Mumbai-based singer-songwriter who primarily sings and writes in Urdu/Hindi language. His song Pahadon Mein has been loved by over 20 Million people in the world. He released his first EP called 'Shaan' with three soulful songs.
