Event Description

We invite you to Script to Screen, screening of five short films produced as part of the Literature to Script Competition, organised by Bengaluru International Short Film Festival (BISFF) and Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in 2022. The scripts that got selected in the competition received a production grant of Rs.1 lakh each and premiered at the 13th edition of BISFF. Watch these five films on June 28, 2024, 6.30 p.m. at the Bhavan! The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers. Antaranga Director: Udith Haritas 24 min. | Kannada with English subtitles Pragathi, a 21-year-old college student, an outgoing personality, is aspiring to be an art curator. Her parents, Prashanth, and Ganga, pursuing high designated careers have been absent through her childhood. Pragathi has learnt to be individualistic and has built a thriving environment for herself. Prashanth and Ganga have not been in a healthy marriage for more than a decade. Prashanth is a porn addict, he indulges in watching porn to unwind. One day, he devastatingly stumbles upon a leaked sex video of Pragathi. The leaked video changes the dynamics of the family. Change Director: Anas Shereef 12 min. | Malayalam with English subtitles A sensitively crafted movie using brevity to encapsulate the core message and doing so beautifully. What starts off as an ordinary family drama story tugs at your heart towards the end with a dramatic twist. How are you? Director: Trupti Kulkarni 21 min. | Tamil with English subtitles Love, anger, despair. All strong emotions. What happens when your love abandons you all of a sudden? Tina and Roy are a married couple. Tina's life turns upside down when one day, out of the blue, she finds herself having to accept the fact that Roy has left her for good. While she struggles with coming to terms with it, she battles her own fears and tries to make sense of things. On the day of her anniversary while she frets and wonders why he left her and how he is doing without her, the answer comes in an unexpected form. ನೀಲ ನೀಲ ತೀರ (Blue Sky, Blue Sea) Director: Prasad Siddheshwar 24 min. | Kannada with English subtitles Manju wants an afternoon sleep. He wants to dream. He is stuck at a faraway land to earn a livelihood. He believes he can experience home only through his dreams. A lot of his life has remained unchanged in his dreams. Thunai Director: Vignesh Paramasivam 24 min. | Tamil with English subtitles An old man aged around 60 plus, forgets his entire identity including name and home after fainting while morning walk. People are not interested to help him since no one knows him and he has nothing but basic mobile with no contacts or call history. But an old lady decides to help to find his identity and home. Whether she is able to take him home or not. Entry free! Age limit: 18+
