FLUX invites you to Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore on Saturday 28th Sep 2024 at Medai Theatre. Our 14th production, Sea’s Fire, explores the devastation done by war and interrogates our role as spectators through dance and movement. Sea’s Fire Navigating the ideas of home, loss, grief, violence, identity, apathy and accountability, Sea’s Fire seeks to voice a crucial appeal underlining the desperate need for the Red Sea to turn blue again. A pun on the desperate need for a ceasefire, this piece is a passionate humanistic call for help. At the heart of our work, we carry the loss of innocence of the many children of Gaza whose voices have been lost by cutting their lives short even before they had started living. However, the biggest casualty through all of this is our collective humanity and this piece is an invitation to hold space. It is an invocation to question systems of oppression, think about how we uphold them and to begin finding the courage to follow the answers that emerge with a sense of compassion. The Process Sea’s Fire has been a 3-month long process bringing together dance and movement-based theatre. Through research, conversation and movement focused exploration, the cast has collectively stitched together a silent yet visceral narrative of war. The cast is a mix of long-time dance practitioners as well as dancers who have completed the 6-month long contemporary dance course – X-Sense at FLUX. About FLUX FLUX School of Arts is a unique art-based organization focused on art for change. The said change is both, personal and systemic. FLUX offers a wide range of art-based courses and workshops focused on contemporary dance, Bollywood dance, Aerial Yoga, Pole fitness and theatre among others.
