Event Description

Friday, October 7 | 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, October 8 | 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Sunday, October 9 | 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Look at Art, Engage in Dialogue and Be Inspired Some of us find contemporary art incomprehensible and intimidating. This three-day workshop on looking at contemporary visual art from India and the world introduces participants to the joy of interactive dialogue with art, to unpack layers of meaning and to explore their own creativity. Art embraces many roles: as a storehouse of knowledge, a treasury of a variety of perceptions and points of view – hence contemporary art is challenging and exciting to explore. It provides us with multiple opportunities to reflect on life, ourselves and the issues that the world is grappling with. All of these reflections add to the richness of the experience of seeing, finding meaning and sharing with one another. The experience of the workshop enables the audience to find individual ways of seeing, to understand and enjoy art. It aims to open a window – to look at art and the content of our everyday lives through reflection and creative expression. All those interested in the journey of looking at art are welcome. No prior knowledge of art is required. The programme will consist of three interactive sessions of two hours each over three days. The workshop is open to all those above the age of 18 years. The group is limited to 25 people and registration is on a first come, first served basis.
