In Seize Her! The Clown, a young clown named Marco is tasked with staging William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, but her satirical performance soon becomes a mirror to real-world politics. As the lines between theatre and reality blur, Marco confronts power, betrayal, and ambition in a year of global elections. Blending clowning, improvisation, and classical text, the play humorously and sharply explores leadership, justice, and the stories we tell, and what happens when a clown dares to question it all.

A theatre company founded by Alistar Prem Bennis, whose training in clowning in Italy informs its practice. Since its first production, Gulaabi Kachcha (2019), the collective has worked across devised theatre, digital performance, and school-based workshops. During the pandemic, it created online works such as Starlight and a reimagined Butter and Mashed Bananas. More recent projects include Seize Her, the Clown (2024), a satire inspired by Julius Caesar, and Who’s Afraid of the Nayika? (2025), which combined Kathak with contemporary performance.
