Event Description

Welcoming the change of season, this Hindustani recital explores ragas that celebrate the arrival of autumn. The sarod, accompanied by the tabla, traverse shifting rhythm cycles, tracing the connection between nature and Indian classical music. This evening features the Bengali heritage of the artists through melodies composed by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

The performance is entirely improvised, with no written or pre-rehearsed format, an amalgamation of melody and rhythm with ancient traditional instruments, and the natural world. It is this spontaneity, unfolding live on stage, that gives the evening its distinct, lively energy.
