Shuffled is a solo performance that navigates through and between notions of choice and individual agency and the stories that shape how we sense and experience the world.

Synopsis

Shuffled is a blend of text, poetry, movement, sound, song, and cardistry. Its primary narrative draws from the performer’s memories of his mother — her life, her dying, and the traces she leaves behind.

These autobiographical memories form a kaleidoscopic backdrop, reflecting broader themes of free will, choice, resilience, and perception. The performance moves through silence, humour, grief, and hope, refusing to be pinned down to a single linear narrative.

The work touches the personal and the political: Hobson’s Choice, the pressures on Adivasi ways of life, and the limits of free will — all anchored in the body, relationships, dreams, and desires.

Card tricks appear throughout the performance, enhancing intimacy, playfulness, and reflection.
