Event Description

Sizzling Stone Pot Festival is a celebration of nutritious and flavorful meals served in a stone pot bowl known as a DOLSOT in Korea. A Dolsot is a small-sized piece of cookware made of Pagodite which is a variety of stone used by Chinese artisans for carvings in pagodas and similar objects. In Korean & Chinese cuisines, various hot rice dishes such as bibimbap are prepared and served in a Dolsot. All the ingredients are cooked in a Dolsot, and mixed at the time of presentation which makes a crackling sound elevating the dining experience of the guests. This sizzling stone pot does not cool off as soon as removed from the stove, so the rice/ noodles/ quinoa continues to cook and arrives at the table still sizzling giving it a smokey, crispy flavor. On the bottom of a sizzling stone pot, there forms a thin crust of scorched rice/noodles or Quinoa (as base as you choose), to be scraped off and eaten in the case of bibimbap.

The loosened chunks of the scorched base remain warm till the end of the meal when it is typically savored. You can choose to add your choice of additional vegetables and meat. One sizzling stone pot bowl is suitable for one to two servings. This meal is considered to be a great source of energy with a healing effect and immunity-boosting benefits. The ingredients used to prepare Bibimbap are green leafy vegetables, eggs, bell peppers, soy sauce, Thai basil, Sichuan sauce, and many more.
