Event Description

Skanda – the name of the benevolent Hindu god Lord Muruga. Rasam – the series of emotions evoked within the audience as they experience the dancer’s communion with Lord Muruga. In this thematic Bharathanatyam solo work, Mohanapriyan takes his audience on a journey of discovery through dance. This multi-faceted showcase features five segments: Mayura Alarippu depicting the beautiful peacock movements, Varnam based on the aspect of love, benevolence, valour and power of Muruga, Padam which explores Shanmuga’s six faces representing the six emotions and stories, complete with a Virutham and Lalgudi G Jeyaraman’s Thillana.
