The event highlights the experience of the age old practice of CHILLA (A 40 days intense practice, where the individual practices their art form without any outside world contact totally unaware of the time,day and night. The participant is allowed only to meet their Guru for timely advice if need be. The practice regime is absolutely challenging mentally, physically and emotionally.
The evening will also feature a traditional Tabla solo performance, followed by an interactive session where the audience can engage with the artist.

Kedarnath Havaldar
Tabla
Kedarnath Havaldar is a Bangalore-based Hindustani classical tabla artist. Born into a musical family, his father, Pt. Dr. Nagraj Rao Havaldar, is a renowned vocalist. Kedarnath’s tabla journey began under Pt. Rajgopal Kallurkar and continued with Pt. M. Nagesh. He is currently a “Gandabandh” disciple of Pt. Samir Chatterjee, with whom he studied in New Jersey, USA.
Kedarnath has performed with various artists in India and abroad, accompanying vocal, instrumental, dance, film, and drama performances. He has also contributed to numerous recording projects. A gold medalist with a master’s degree in tabla, Kedarnath continues to learn and grow as a musician.
Ranjan Kumar Beura
Violin
Sri Ranjan Kumar Beura is a Hindustani classical violin maestro from Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He began his musical journey at age five, guided by his musically inclined parents. Trained by illustrious mentors, including Pandit Sunil Singh Mahant and Smt. K. Bhubaneswari Mishra, Ranjan Kumar Beura mastered the Kirana Gharana style. He draws inspiration from legends like Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and Dr. Gangubai Hangal.
A versatile musician, Beura seamlessly transitions between Hindustani, Carnatic, and international music styles. He has performed with renowned artists and has composed music for over 160 films and 450 albums. Currently, Beura is Project Director at Rhythms College of Fine Arts and a Hindustani Classical violin instructor at Saptharishi Gurukul. His musical journey is a testament to his virtuosity, innovation, and dedication to preserving classical music traditions.
