Event Description

MD Pallavi (Bangalore) and Andi Otto (Hamburg) have been musical collaborators since 2016, when their single “Bangalore Whispers” hit a sweet spot on downtempo dancefloors worldwide. Their new album “Songs For Broken Ships” (LP/dig Pingipung 2023) combines Pallavi’s Kannada vocals with electronic production between experimental acoustic ballads and disco tracks. The album has been nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award 2023.

Andi Otto will perform on his unique sensor-extended cello called “Fello”, MD Pallavi will sing. Both artists will also play electronic instruments.

The concert combines live versions of their studio tracks with free improvisations revealing traces of Indian classical music in their trans-traditional artistic approach.
