BIC brings back Sounds From The Library for a third time!

Sounds From The Library is a series that features artists of the Toto Awards for Music for an evening of conversations and live music. Held in BIC’s intimate library space, our audience will experience a unique live performance along with the chance to learn more about the artists’ journeys and processes.

In this edition, we present the edgy, alternative synthpop duo Dreamhour & Dokoroko from Siliguri & Gangtok (Toto Awards for Music 2024 Longlister) along with Bangalore’s own RnB Singer-Songwriter Rudy Mukta (Toto Awards for Music 2023 Winner).

In collaboration with:

Artistes

Dokodoko & Dreamhour
Electro-Pop Duo
Debojyoti Sanyal, known professionally as Debo or by his solo project Dreamhour, is a producer, singer-songwriter, and sonic storyteller from Siliguri, West Bengal, India. His earliest experiments with music began as a 12 year old, recording vocals and guitars on old cassette tapes using a low-grade Walkman, layering and overdubbing sound in ways that hinted at the intricate productions to come. Over the years, he has cultivated a unique sound that blends nostalgia-soaked synthpop and alternative pop, creating music that feels cinematic, emotionally charged, and timeless. Under his alias Dreamhour, Debo has released a string of acclaimed projects, including his debut EP The Unfinished Story of the Unknown Band (2016), the shadowy and expansive VLLNS (2018), following it up with PROPSTVR (2020) and the lush, introspective Now That We Are Here (2023), which was named one of Rolling Stone India’s Top 10 Albums of the Year. He is also one-half of Dokodoko & Dreamhour, a duo known for blending multilingual songwriting with alt-pop and electronic production, where introspective storytelling meets sonic experimentation. Their latest EP, IDK (2024), dives into the playful and chaotic world of hyperpop, showcasing his continued evolution as a producer and vocalist.

By day she’s Dr. Kritika, a PhD in English Literature who can dissect a 19th-century novel like nobody’s business. By night, she’s Dokodoko—one-half of the duo Dreamhour & Dokodoko, turning existential musings into words and melodies. Based in Gangtok, Sikkim, Kritika balances the art of crafting songs and performing for an audience while teaching college students the complexities of literary theory. With a knack for bending genres and breaking expectations, she’s as likely to write a heartbreak anthem as she is to teach you about postmodernist literature. Think of her as your favorite bookworm who just so happens to have a mic, a melody, and a lot to say.

Rudy Mukta
RnB Singer/Songwriter
Rudy Mukta is the artistic version of Indian singer/songwriter Rudravajhala Mukta, who’s quickly established herself as one of the most exciting new artists in the indie / R&B music ranks on strength of her forward thinking, genre defying sound. Raised in Bangalore, Rudy trained in carnatic music for over 10 years. The 22 year old’s impressive self produced debut project, ’entropy’ was released independently in 2020 and continues to gather critical acclaim with each new discovery. This was followed by a string of single releases in the following years that have found her a keen and invested following in the independent music circuit.

Anush KMS
Performance Artist
Anush KMS is a queer performance artist based out of Bangalore who works with movement and rhythm. He plays Parai with the Adavi Arts Collective and has performed in various states. He is also a writer and his work has been published in Open Dosa and The Queer Muslim Project. His artistic inspiration comes from people watching, eavesdropping and thoroughly enjoying mangoes.
