Ragavalli Presents: SUTHRAMELA Puppeteers, established by Sri. K Narahari Sastry, the doyen of Karnataka’s traditional rod & string puppetry comprises of trained family members whose ancestors were performing puppet artists nearly 140 years ago. The current team led by Ravindra Narahari comprises of fifth generation of such dedicated artists. Sutramela team specializes in the unique traditional rod and string puppetry known as “Salaki Suthrada Bombe”. This team is visiting us with a strong commitment to preserve, propagate and popularize the ancient traditional rod and string puppetry art of Karnataka, India. The prasanga performed is “Sri Krishna Tulabharam” where the true essence of Bhakti and love to Lord Krishna is unfolded.
