Swarathma celebrates the spirit of the craftpreneur, with a concert of specially curated songs for Tarasha 2025, an exhibition at BIC from 16-19 January 2025.

Drawing on folk and classical, blending with contemporary sounds and themes, the band will bring its infectious positive energy to the ecosystem of artisans creating a livelihood with their art, and the systems that support them.

This performance kicks off the Tarasha Craft Exhibition 2025, a vibrant celebration of India’s artisan traditions and the craftpreneurs transforming them into sustainable livelihoods. Featuring a diverse showcase of crafts, workshops, and live demonstrations, the event highlights the resilience and creativity of artisans across India.

Swarathma (Kannada:ಸ್ವರಾತ್ಮ) is a Bangalore (India)-based Indian Folk/fusion band. The band’s sound draws from Indian Folk and Classical Music, blending it with Western sounds like Blues Rock and Reggae. Their lyrics are inspired by personal journeys as well as social and political themes. The current line-up features Vasu Dixit (vocals and rhythm guitar), Jishnu Dasgupta (bass guitar and vocals), Vinay Ramakrishnan (drums), Varun Murali (guitar and vocals) and Sanjeev Nayak (violin and vocals).
