SWAYAM :
Belonging to the Etawah Gharana of sitar, and a disciple of Sitar virtuoso Sri Ramprapanna Bhattacharya ji, Swayam has been playing the sitar for more than a decade now, while he’s been a part of the Microsoft family as a Product Designer for 5+ years! And though his foremost strength lies in playing the sitar, what he focuses on is delivering a good experience to the listener. Since he works as a Designer, he sees a salient connection between music and design, which he translates in the form of his shows, outfits\fashion, jewellery, presentation, thus bringing an overall grand extravaganza in the form of ‘Swayam’. Swayam has been making waves across the country and beyond with his Sitar, garnering global attention from the music and film fraternity, while his signature and carefully curated aesthetic that stems from his design mind has garnered attention from a lot of bespoke fashion brands from across India.
Swayam has so far graced stages for brands and multinationals like Gucci, Tata, Valentino, the consulate in Hong-Kong, while also playing shows at academies like IIT, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy , and, has also delivered talks for TEDx and more. 2025 saw Swayam debut an intimate India tour in 13 cities, and he’s now returning with Gajraj on percussion, on his next large cap India tour, with more music, compositions and classical improv, his Sitar echoing melodies that leave you mesmerized.
