EVENT HAS ENDED
36/2, 8th Cross Rd, R K Colony, 2nd Phase, J. P. Nagar 560078
A storytelling performance by Shatarupa Bhattacharyya which delves into Bangla literary history to tell three iconic stories by Saratchandra Chattopadhyay and Mahasweta Devi, in their English translation.
The stories relate the lived experience of the margins.
They show how the canonical authors of Bangla literature have deployed their storytelling skills to engage with issues of contemporary concern such as caste, class, gender, and religion, showing a harsh mirror to society and the many ways in which it discriminates and marginalises.
Come on over to what will be a very interesting discussion!
See you this Sunday at the Ranga Shankara foyer.
