The Acoustic Sessions Present: KARAN & PALLAVI In Concert The Karan and Pallavi Project duo is an offshoot of the Karan Mahajan Band performing stripped-down arrangements of Karan Mahajan's compositions along wit a selection of covers curated. The project features Delhi-based singer-songwriter Pallavi Aggarwal and Karan Mahajan guitarist composer and lead of The Karan Mahajan Band With an ever-growing repertoire of original compositions and covers the Karan Mahajan Band transcends the boundaries of conventional genres and labels.In this day and age of widespread commercialism and programmed music the band chooses to focus instead on live performance songwriting and extended improvisation. The group’s influences include artists such as Son House BB King Derek Trucks Miles Davis John Coltrane Ali Akbar Khan among others. Since it’s birth in 2019 the band has played numerous shows on the local and national circuits. Karan Mahajan Karan Mahajan is a musician composer and educator based in New Delhi India. He completed his studies at the Global Music Institute in 2016. He has been offered merit scholarships from the New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music (USA) The New England Conservatory (USA) The University of North Texas (USA) and the Global Music Institute (India). He has worked with several local and international artists including Takar Nabam (Same Sky) Isaac Smith (Sneak Attack) and Raphaelle Brochet and Philippe Aerts (the Piano Man). In 2016 he performed at the annual Music Matters Festival in Colombo Sri Lanka as part of the Tarun Balani Collective. Karan’s band was featured at the Irregulars’ Art Festival 2018. Pallavi Aggarwal Pallavi is a singer-songwriter from Delhi currently based out of Bangalore. She sings Blues R&B and contemporary pop music. She studied vocals and jazz at One World College of Music in 2015. Pallavi was featured at Irregulars' Art Festival along with Karan. In college Pallavi led her acappella ensemble where she won various competitions through 2014-2017. In 2018 Pallavi has been performing as a session musician at live venues across Delhi and Bangalore since the last 5 years.
