Event Description

Prakash Belawadi theatre artist, writer, director, and teacher for stage, television and cinema, will talk about his experience and highlight why there is a need to change the way we live.

Managing Trustee and Founder of Centre for Film and Drama, Belawadi is known for his roles in select films such as Madras Café, Talvar, Wazir and Airlift. As a journalist and activist, he has been involved in various environment and urban ecology-related issues. He is also a motivational speaker and has been a part of various conferences and workshops in India, and at prestigious institutes including Harvard University and San Francisco State University. Known for his work on stage and screen, he has been awarded the Helpmann Award (Australia) for Best Actor Male in 'Counting & Cracking' (2019), Karnataka Nataka Academy award (2012) for contribution to Kannada language theatre, and National Award for debut feature (Writer & Director) 'STUMBLE'.
