This film captures the city’s historical landscape, its vibrant culture, and its once-thriving water bodies through the eyes of a remarkable artist, T.S. Sundar. Many of the trees from which he once collected seeds for his artworks no longer exist. Living in a diverse neighborhood, he witnessed the green, culturally rich Bengaluru he knew transform into a bustling tech hub. It’s a journey through art, divinity, and an ever-altering cityscape—a quiet quest to find the meaning of human existence.
The screening will be followed by a discussion featuring the artist and the filmmaker, along with an audience Q&A.

T. S. Sundar
Artist
T. S. Sundar, 81, is a unique artist who has never sold a piece or sought fame. As Bengaluru transformed into a tech hub, Sundar quietly mourned the vanishing green city that once inspired his craft. A long-time resident of the cultural enclave Basavanagudi, he feels his Bengaluru no longer exists. He bears the pain of witnessing the city consumed by gluttonous urban growth. Sundar is also the grandson of Dr. Anbu Pillai, a renowned doctor who played an instrumental role in shaping medical institutions in Bengaluru and Karnataka.
