Event Description
Holi, the traditional festival of colours or festival of spring celebrates the eternal love of Radha and Krishna. It signifies the triumph of Good over Evil. Indian Music as diverse as the colours, has several compositions depicting the festival. Apart from the traditional classical compositions, there are several others by legendary musicians, which bring out the beauty of the festival and unearth different facets of the raag. The association of Holi with colours is also brought out in many classical compositions. This thematic presentation will include Khayal compositions, Bhajans, Abhangs, Thumri, Dhamar, Chaturang, Hori, Bandish ki Thumri, Awadh ki Hori, Shivji ki Hori and Rasiya, all based on the Festival of Colours (Holi).
