EVENT HAS ENDED
36/2, 8th Cross Rd, R K Colony, 2nd Phase, J. P. Nagar 560078
Our lives - the good, the bad, and the ugly - and how the making of one book, through the power of the written word, changed (or did not change) everything. Aaeen is a musical comedy bringing together 5 different stories – written by Lawai BemBem, Amitosh Nagpal, Purva Naresh, Sarah Mariam and Varun Grover – all traversing the impact of the constitution of India in different spaces, weaved together through movement, music, interaction, and more.
In MOVE:REMOVE, Lawai BemBem explores the dynamics and politics behind the making of a constitution – in particular, Indian and American constitutions – zooming in on what goes on inside the room when humongous decisions are being made, and who's allowed to be inside the room in the first place.
In Amitosh Nagpal's Kala Akshar Bhains Barabar, we get to see what happens in the fantasyland where Mr. Raj, a chat-pakodewala, decides to declare a country of his own, setting his own rules with a few friends: a goat and a kid.
Sarah Mariam's Aaj Shahani Hai Raat encircles a mysterious wedding procession where nobody has seen the groom, or knows who he is – but the revelation is larger than what it seems.
Finally, Varun Grover takes us through the story of a stand-up comedian who has been jailed because of a joke, in Desh Drohi Akshar – a quick-witted take on the sedition clause and its misuse.
