“The Dancing Body: Move with Intention” by Neha Mondal is a holistic movement lab designed for dancers to explore the interconnections between breath, body, and intention. Developed to bridge the gap in dancer training beyond choreography and performance, it focuses on mindful preparation, injury prevention, and sustainable practice.
Drawing from Bharatanatyam, yoga, somatics, ballet conditioning, and strength training, the workshop integrates breathwork, alignment, and conditioning routines that enhance stamina, rhythm, and recovery.
Modules include:
- Natyarambhyaasa (shoulder and upper body activation),
- Jaanu Balam (knee strengthening),
- Aramandi Prayoga (correct posture),
- Prishta Shakti (spine and back resilience), and
- Kati Urja (hip and pelvic power).
Participants are guided to develop awareness of their breath, optimise energy flow, and build endurance through conscious, injury-free movement, creating a strong foundation for longevity in dance practice.
