The Gallery @Maya, the slow living restaurant in Jayanagar is showcasing an art show “The Circuits of Expressions” by the artist Dibyendu Seal from the 21st of February to the 15 of March 2022

Circuits of expression:
In this collection, Dibyendu captures existence in the “hustle culture” with organic life-forms. Intricately crafting raw expressions, he uses animals as metaphors for human life and weaves a modern-day philosophy in every creation. With impeccable structure, design and colour, thoughtfully, he portrays the limitations and boundaries we’ve created by giving in to materialism. The paintings have silent yearnings for something beyond the tangible world. They depict personal stories and he invites us to immerse ourselves in their comfort.

Dibyendu Seal

Largely self- taught he loves to explore the contradictions of urban cosmopolitanism and the increasing stranglehold of technology on our everyday life. Entrapped by repetitive cycles of mechanical routine, his mind probes the nature of labour and existence—visual ruminations which allow him a sense of illusory freedom. The moments of epiphany in the images are results of that yearning.  The visuals compare the shapes from both worlds that not only bring up the aesthetic dimensions of the objects but also express the incessant longing for sustenance by being moored in nature.

Seal’s art revolves around the complex relationship we share with technology, the natural world that resides within us and our longing for enlightenment amidst the chaos. Tapping human emotions in a surreal way, he expresses our innermost needs and feelings through animal forms.His paintings inspire self-discovery and impart humble revelations as an offering. With classic aesthetic dimensions, his works are relatable and ideal at the same time. It may be noted that the artist by profession is a software engineer. A gateway to re-discovery, Dibyendu urges us to indulge in mindful reflections.
