Amidst the prevailing physical and emotional turmoil stemming from global conflicts, ArtMantram Trust is proud to announce the return of the Glass House Festival - a beacon of solace, beauty, and understanding through poetry. With over 100 poets already confirmed to attend the festival, and offerings of poetry in various formats, including workshops and awards, this new edition is shaping up to be a significant event, and one not to be missed in Bangalore’s literary landscape. Scheduled over the 23rd and 24th of March at the Bangalore International Center, this year's festival aims to create an immersive and celebratory space dedicated to themes of Planet, Prosperity, People and Peace. Building upon the success of its previous iteration in 2020, which saw over 100 renowned poets from 20 countries, the festival endeavors to foster connection and inspiration among poets and poetry enthusiasts worldwide. Annie Zaidi (online), Ashwani Kumar, Gayatri Majumdar, are some of the best known names that are part of this year’s festival. Drawing upon the immersive intensity of traditional festivals, the 2024 program boasts a diverse array of poetic expressions, including Recitative Poetry, Slam Poetry, Close Readings of Poems, Poems in Translation, Regional Language Poetry, and more. Through panel discussions, workshops, and performances, the festival aims to celebrate the richness of poetic diversity while addressing pressing social and environmental issues. Panels address Gaza, incarceration and the freedom of speech and environmental and community activism. The Glass House Festival extends an open invitation to poets and poetry lovers worldwide to participate and share their journey. Interested participants are encouraged to participate through engaging with the festival sessions, the poets, and artistic endeavor of the self. ArtMantram Trust and Mantram Art Foundation, non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting the arts, proudly support the Glass House Festival.
