About the Event: O Gaanewali celebrates the music popularised by tawaifs and women musicians, bringing together Thumri, Dadra, Hori, Chaiti, Jhoola, Sawan, Kajari, Ghazal, and other allied forms.

Blending storytelling with live music, the show recreates the intimate and interactive atmosphere of a traditional mehfil. It is led by a five-member ensemble of young musicians and vocalists trained under Vidushi Dr. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana.

Having travelled across India with over 80 performances, O Gaanewali continues to evolve its repertoire and format while creating an accessible and immersive experience for contemporary audiences.
