With a strong intent for simplicity, Thakara songs are lovingly made, gorgeous-sounding projects, melodious, raw and real in its own way; Since 2012.

A truthful concern to understand and portray the common man in his personal, official, social, spiritual, and political scenarios, their sheer joys and struggles there, generally goes into the soul of a Thakara song.

Not just the simple everyday kind of lyrics, but also the songwriting that doesn’t limit itself to a genre, or a trend, defines the Thakara portfolio. Crisscrossing the alternative, ambient, folk-rock and pop-rock domains for over a decade, Thakara has performed all across Kerala, Bangalore, and also in Chennai. 

The music festivals attended by the band includes Alt ‘n’ Pepper at Fort Cochin, Mojo Rising at Bolgatty Island, Kochi, RockAtEase at Chennai, Summer Tide at Kozhikode, Beach Festival at Kozhikode, Home Festival at Trivandrum & Bangalore, and Indie Gaga - the multicity music festival.

The band is an all-time college circuit favourite, and has a cult following at music festivals. On stage and offstage, Thakara is unabashedly simple, with a vocal-heavy content, enveloped in a diverse soundscape which resonates with your inner rhythms.

The ‘Live’ Set List of Thakara is a vibrant blast of good music that goes psychedelic at times, rocking when you least expect it, and simply catchy and melodic when the list touches its famous chart toppers, sometimes even letting the atmosphere of the song carry itself, and the audience chipping in like a grand chorus!

On a live stage, Thakara’s content diversity takes an eye-catching avatar when the LED wall creatives at the backdrop showcases the concepts and feelings discussed in each song, with an interplay of a few simple, but powerful slides, designed in-house by the band.

Now a days, the band is having a great time, creating and celebrating new songs and amazing new avatars of the old ones. The releases in the last one year include Kurumulaku, Loop, Mask and Rain Song: Streaming successfully at all leading platforms / channels.
