Synopsis

A story worth telling of an environmentalist, years ahead of his time. Gustav Hermann Krumbiegel, a German botanist, who was born in Drezden, Germany, crossed the channel to work at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kew, England. Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the ruler of Baroda, persuaded him to leave England for a journey of a lifetime. He had designed and landscaped many gardens across India. The story takes the audience to the gardens of Baroda in Gujarat, Government Botanical Gardens in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, Lalbagh in Bengaluru, Brindavan Gardens in Mysuru, Jubilee Park in Jamshedpur, Kew Gardens in London, and Pillnitz in Germany. After Mahatma Gandhi’s death, Krumbiegel, 90 years old at that time was invited by the Indian Government to landscape his memorial garden in New Delhi.

This film traces the legacy of this great German, Gustav Hermann Krumbiegel, which remains largely unknown
