On The Jungle Floor, (OTJF) will transform our Library space into a Listening Room, presenting The Man-Machine by Kraftwerk from Germany. This session invites you to explore the sleek, futuristic sounds that helped define electronic music and continue to shape modern soundscapes.
The Man-Machine which is the seventh studio album by Kraftwerk, the German electronic band formed in Düsseldorf in 1970, is widely considered a genre-defining album. Karl Klefisch designed the cover art for the album. It is also the first Kraftwerk album to have Karl Bartos credited as co-producer.
From the mechanical pulse of The Robots to the sprawling industrial beauty of Metropolis and the hypnotic rhythms of The Model, OTJF will spin The Man-Machine in its entirety on vinyl, capturing the fusion of man and machine that made this album a cornerstone of electronic music.
Illustrator and musician Sachin Bhatt will co-host the event. Specialising in album art and visual creatives, Sachin has made a significant impact locally and internationally, having worked with artists like Hiatus Kaiyote, Moonchild, The F16s, Kiefer and more.
Whether you're an electronic music aficionado or new to Kraftwerk, you’re sure to enjoy this evening of beats, exploration, and deep listening.
