Event Description

What stories does a city park hold beyond its trees and pathways? This World Environment Day, join Suresh Jayaram for The Many Lives of Cubbon Park: Nature, Memory, and Citizen Resistance. Based on his book Cubbon Park: Citizens’ Perspectives and Many Visions for the Future (2026), the lecture explores how Bengaluru’s iconic green space has been shaped by ecology, history, public memory, and civic action. Through ethnography and historical cartography, it uncovers Cubbon Park as a living archive of the city’s many voices, struggles, and aspirations. 5 June 2026, Friday | 5:00 PM At the Auditorium, NGMA Bengaluru
