Paulo Coelho, (born August 24, 1947, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Brazilian novelist known for employing rich symbolism in his depictions of the often spiritually motivated journeys taken by his characters. Coelho was raised in Rio de Janeiro.

Anupa enjoys books, oration, history, anthropology, culture, the written word, theatre and the movies, and all of these interests combine in her selection of the simple yet profound book 'The Alchemist' for her once-a-year presentation at the Urban Solace Book Lover's Club. She also weaves these interests into her chosen vocation of school-teaching Social Studies and English, and currently teaches the IB Diploma Program in English at the Higher Level at an International School, as well as IGCSE English. In her other (former) life, she is an experienced Human Resources professional, Trainer, Values and Culture Interventionist, Leadership Coach for professional organizations, and Change Management Specialist.
