With more than a million streams, and a monthly listener count upwards of 30k on Spotify alone, the band is a genre-bending, with tastes varying from fresh to nostalgic and back again. The band plays its wide catalog of original music and your favorite covers in their own finesse, making sure the audience get what they came for! ] Event June 12th, 8 pm @Fandom Rex David Rex David, the bassist for Western Ghats, has been traveling with his bass for the past 12 years, and is also a Grade 8 (TCM) violinist. Rex loves the 'Blues' and 'Funk' and enjoys interpreting Carnatic classics on his bass. After building a niche in session music and working with various bands in South India, he moved to Mumbai in 2019, where he met the band. Impressed with Western Ghats's unique sound and musicality, Rex instantly connected with the band and started making music together. Ritik Suntwal Ritik Suntwal, from Raipur, is Western Ghats’ drummer and is the youngest one in the band. He is 20 and has been playing the drums since 10. He is very experimental and likes to play around with novel sound signatures for his rhythm tracks. He contributes major structural designs to the bands’ songwriting. "Drummers like Matt Garstka, Luke Holland inspire me a lot but there's no specific genre that I would stick to, I believe keeping an open mind is key!" says Ritik. Sunil George Sunil plays keyboards on stage and produces for the band offstage. He has played for the likes of Coke Studio, Vijay Prakash, and Masala Coffee. Sunil strongly believes in experimenting with every sound he can get his hand on. His music is rooted deeply in Gospel and Electro-Rock which gives the band its unique flavor. Commercially, he has found success collaborating with musicians like Vijay Prakash, Stephen Devassy, Kavita Seth Ashish Rego, etc. He has also worked as a music producer in Mumbai for more than seven years. Kaleb Shaji Kaleb picked up the guitar in 2014 and realized that’s what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Kaleb is an active musician in the Gospel scene, and records regularly for the likes of Charles Nazareth, Rex media, Robin Shalu, and Stanley Stephen. He is a guitar and guitar gear enthusiast/ historian and has made Alternative Rock, Blues, and Gospel as his mainstay genres. His influences include Rex Vijayan, Switchfoot, and Plini and is an avid consumer of new music. Gordon Pereira Gordon, the most experienced player in the band, started guitars at the age of 16, and played for the Pop-Rock band ‘Scream’ in the mid-90’s, Indian and South Korean band ‘Fish’, gospel rock bands ‘Dunamis’ and ‘Red Rock Conspiracy’, and the extreme metal band ‘Met Baser’. He has also been teaching guitars and drums for the past 23 years, and toured countries like UAE, Uganda, and Singapore. Aryaendra Shekhar Aryan is the singer-songwriter & the composer for The Western Ghats. Aryaendra is a designer by the day and the soul responsible for writing melodies.
