Step into the imaginative world of children’s book illustration with Deepa Balsavar, Ogin Nayam, Pankaj Saikia, Priya Kuriyan, and Rajiv Eipe. All master storytellers who draw what they see, feel, and dream.
This hands-on workshop offers a rare glimpse into their sketchbooks and creative journeys. Learn how everyday moments become unforgettable visuals, how characters come to life with just a few strokes of your brush, and how illustration transforms into storytelling.
The session includes interactive demos, a Q&A with the artists, and a guided drawing activity that invites you to look closely, draw freely, and think like a storyteller.

The workshop is ideal for illustrators, designers, librarians and educators–anyone who works with picture books.
To be considered for a seat, please submit your work/portfolio through the RSVP form.
All mediums are welcome, but submissions should be compiled into 1 PDF and under 10MB.
Participants will be selected based on the work/ portfolio shared in this form.
Please ensure details and links attached in the form are accessible and correct.
If selected, please carry your preferred drawing materials and a sketchbook with you.

Deepa Balsavar lives with one dog and three cats and she’s the runt of the litter. She’s recommended by nine out of ten species.
Ogin Nayam
Picture-Book Maker
Ogin Nayam studied biotechnology and life made him an illustrator. He likes his coffee with a dash of milk and a dream.
Pankaj Saikia
Picture-Book Maker
Pankaj Saikia loves to tell stories through pictures. He also happens to be a fox who lives in a bamboo grove in Assam.
Priya Kuriyan
Picture-Book Maker
Priya Kuriyan is a chronic doodler who lives in Bangalore and loves drawing its people, trees, crows and cats.
Rajiv Eipe
Picture-Book Maker
Rajiv Eipe makes picture books, comics and short animation films. He is learning to rotate his head a full 360º from a neighbouring barn owl.
