12/2, Yeshwantpur Industrial Suburb, Bangalore 560022
10th of May, Tuesday to 13th of May, Friday– 10am to 12pm
Age group - 6 years to 12 years
We welcome your children to this workshop. It will be facilitated by Akash Narendran. Participants will be led through games and theatre exercises that introduce them to the worlds of theatre.
The children’s natural curiosity and energies will be guided towards the possibilities of theatrical creation. We will be working with improvisational theatre, and expression through the body, amongst other concepts and techniques derived from diverse theatre training.
The workshop will include processes of building theatrical work from poetry, from one’s own identities, and this will be through play, training and sharing, and through questions.
What can silences inspire, and what can movement bring together?
Akash Narendran engages with stories in the fields of theatre and filmmaking. A co-founder of citylamps, he acts, facilitates, and conducts with them. He has been performing playback theatre since 2013.
Akash introduces children to the world of theatre, and loves engaging with their inquisitive and imaginative selves. He also facilitates corporate training programs, and sings.
He has directed plays in collaborative and devised processes. His work in other capacities in the theatre include through writing, sound, organising, managing and production. Akash is interested in the dimensions of sharing and accessibilities; in communal and systemic processes, as well as in continuing his psychology training to bring that knowledge back to the arts and his other pursuits.
