Event Description

After 'Afterlife of Birds', Kriyative Theatre's hit Kannada play, 'Gundayana', comes to your screen, this week in Ranga Shankara's 'View from the 4th Row' - our free digital play-streaming programme that brings curated single-camera recordings from our academic archiving exercises to you. 

‘Gundayana’ is a unique comedy in which the protagonist himself never appears on stage, but is spoken about by ten different characters portrayed by only two actors - theatre veterans Sundar and Laxmi Chandrashekar. The play is based on renowned Kannada humorist Na. Kasturi's  'Chakradrushti' and is excellently adapted to stage by Laxmi Chandrashekar. Designed and directed by Joseph, a Ninasam graduate who has made waves in theatre circles with his innovative productions, 'Gundayana' also features internationally-reputed violinist H.N.Bhaskar playing Gajanana Naik’s tunes, lighting by Muddanna Shirahatti, and make-up by Ramakrishna Kannarapadi.
