Event Description

Surveillance of Nature - An Art Installation by Sunayana Guhesh

Inspired by her personal experiences growing up in a school nestled within a 100-acre forest, Sunayana Guhesh presents Surveillance of Nature, an evocative art installation that explores the complex relationship between humans and the natural world. Throughout her time in the forest, Sunayana became profoundly aware of the ever-watchful presence of the monkeys that inhabited the woods. Their curious gaze became a metaphor for the persistent surveillance of nature itself.

At the heart of the installation is a striking figure of a monkey perched on a branch, symbolizing the "CCTV" of the natural world, constantly observing human activity. This piece juxtaposes the timeless watchfulness of nature with modern surveillance technologies, inviting viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of humanity and the environment. Through this creative lens, Sunayana reminds us of the delicate balance between civilization and the natural world and the need for its preservation.

Join us for this thought-provoking exhibition as we delve into the unseen eyes of nature, ever-present and always observing.
